Dan Roylance Harrop, Age 79 of North Ogden Utah passed away on October 30, 2022, from medical complications.
Dan was born on April 11, 1943, to Joseph and Alta Harrop in Ogden, Utah. Dan graduated from Ogden High School in 1962 and enjoyed going to the High School Reunions.
After graduating from High School, he enlisted in the Navy and served in the Philippines for two years as a Military Policeman. He was an accomplished Pistol Marksman in the Navy. He was a telephone repairman for 44 years and retired to work construction with his son.
After going deer hunting and getting a deer, he married RaNae Hadley on October 29, 1965. They were married by Elder Ezra Taft Benson in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Salt Lake Temple. Dan and RaNae had 12 names picked out for children but were only able to have three living children. Ronda Dannell (Charlie), Dan Robert (Grew), “D” Ryan (Bino).
Dan loved the mountains and being outdoors. He also loved snowmobiling with whoever would go with him. He loved his Ford vehicles, especially his Broncos. His CB handle was “Bronco Dan”.
He loved being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He worked in the Scouting program for many years and touched many lives through this program. His favorite thing was making the pinewood derby cars and racing them. He was a natural for repairing anything that was given him. If he didn’t know how to fix it, he would tinker with it until he figured it out and was always willing to share his knowledge with others. The relationship between him and his siblings was unbreakable.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Alta Harrop, brother Jody and wife RaNae.
He is survived by Ronda (Kelly) Koger, Dan (Megan) Harrop, “D” Ryan (Ellen) Harrop, 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, Susan Harrop (Sister-in-law), Wendell Harrop (brother), Lorraine Mottes(sister), Kris Harrop (brother) and Reed Harrop (brother).
Viewing will be held on November 7th at Leavitt’s Mortuary (836 36th St, Ogden, Ut) from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on November 8th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, North Ogden 15th Ward (770 E 2100 N, No. Ogden) at 11:00 am with a viewing held from 10:00-10:45 a.m.
Interment Ben Lomond Cemetery.
